Ole Miss will square off against Texas Tech on January 2.

It’s been a busy week for a few of the players bound for Dallas and the 2009 AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic. With a lull from now until bowl season, organizations across the country have been handing out their post-season awards.

Last night in Orlando, Fla., the ESPNU/Home Depot College Football Awards show took place. Both participants in the Cotton Bowl Classic were well represented. Texas Tech Wide Receiver Michael Crabtree was nominated for and won the Biletnikoff award for the nation’s best wide receiver.

It’s the second year in a row that Crabtree has claimed the award and the first ever back-to-back winner.

Crabtree was also honored as a Walter Camp Football Foundation First-Team All American for the second straight year.

Tech offensive lineman Rylan Reed was also named a Walter Camp first team All American.

Earlier this week, Tech quarterback Graham Harrell was announced as the winner of the Johnny Unitas award for the best senior quarterback in the nation. He was also nominated for the Davey O’Brien quarterback award.

Ole Miss offensive lineman Michael Oher was present as a finalist for the Outland award, given to the top interior lineman in the nation. Oher was also honored as a Walter Camp Football Foundation First-Team All American.

Members of the 2008 Walter Camp All-American team will be honored at the national awards banquest in January at Yale University.

Ole Miss and Texas Tech will square off in the 73rd AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic on January 2 at 1 p.m. It will be the last Classic played in historic Cotton Bowl Stadium. A limited number of tickets are still available at www.attcottonbowl.com.
