FIELD AND MARY SCOVELL SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION

The Field and Mary Scovell Scholarship Foundation today announced the 15 recipients of $3,000 college grants that honor the memory of “Mr. Cotton Bowl” and his wife of nearly 50 years.

The 15 Scovell Scholarships totaling $45,000 were awarded at a reception on May 3, 2010 at the Hyatt Regency Dallas. The total amount awarded matches last year’s giving record for the Foundation.

HALL OF FAME DAY DRAWING NEAR FOR 2010 CLASS!

Six individuals who helped shape the tradition and history of the AT&T Cotton Bowl will be inducted into the Classic’s Hall of Fame during enshrinement ceremonies on Wednesday, April 14.

The honorees in the eighth Hall of Fame Class include the CBAA’s first Executive Director Wilbur Evans, Notre Dame split end Kris Haines, Texas wingback Phil Harris, Alabama middle guard Warren Lyles, Notre Dame quarterback Joe Montana, and Texas A&M and Mississippi State head coach Jackie Sherrill.

TOMMY BAIN NAMED CHAIRMAN OF COTTON BOWL ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION

North Texas business leader Thomas C. Bain, Jr. (Tommy) has been elected to a two-year term as Chairman of the Cotton Bowl Athletic Association (CBAA), the sponsoring agency of the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic. Bain has been a member of the bowl’s Board of Directors since 1991 and has served on the CBAA’s Executive Committee as Vice-Chairman the past four years.

ARLINGTON, Dec. 6, 2009 – The stage for the 74th AT&T Cotton Bowl is set. Oklahoma State University will face the University of Mississippi in the first Classic at Cowboys Stadium.

Cowboys and Rebels athletic officials formally accepted an invitation extended by Cotton Bowl Athletic Association Chairman Kathy Saunders on Sunday.
