BATON ROUGE -- LSU has sold out its entire allotment of tickets to the 2003 SBC Cotton Bowl, athletics director Skip Bertman announced Monday night.

LSU went on sale with approximately 7,700 tickets on Monday morning and by the end of business at 8 p.m. were sold out of available tickets to the January 1 bowl game against the University of Texas.

Dallas, here come the Tigers! This is an incredible show of support by LSU fans for a very deserving football team, Bertman said Monday evening. First, our season ticket holders bought our initial allotment of tickets. Now, we have sold out of our second allotment in less than 12 hours. There is no doubting the fact that the passion that fills Tiger Stadium on Saturday nights flows over into our bowl games.

LSU initially took orders for 12,000 tickets from season tickets holders and then went on sale to the general public on Monday morning with 7,700 more tickets. All LSU football season ticket holders who pre-ordered tickets by the November 25 deadline will receive their full order of tickets. Those tickets will be shipped via UPS from the ticket office the week of Dec. 16.

LSU fans have traveled in record numbers to road games this season, so this is a culmination of a year of tremendous support from the Tiger faithful, Bertman said.

LSU reminds its fulltime students that to qualify for SBC Cotton Bowl tickets, students must scan their ID at the ticket office any time before 8 p.m. on Wednesday evening. Student tickets will be distributed on Thursday and Friday.

Still on sale at the ticket office are parking passes for the SBC Cotton Bowl. Parking passes are $15 each and can be purchased in person at the ticket office, by phone at (225) 578-2184 or on the Internet at
