The new Cowboys Stadium will host the 2010 AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic.

On Wednesday, May 27, the staff of the Cotton Bowl Athletic Association (CBAA) travelled west to Arlington to witness the opening of our new home.

The dedication of the new Dallas Cowboys stadium was held in a ceremony held outside in the west end zone plaza. CBAA Officer and the Radio Voice of the Cowboys, Brad Sham emceed the proceedings where he was joined by the Cowboy cheerleaders and the marching band from nearby UT Arlington.

Over 1500 people were in attendance including many of the members of the Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor, the Mayor of Arlington and representatives from the New York Yankees. Former and current Cowboy’s players were also present.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones highlighted the main event when he, with his entire family, pulled a ceremonial lever, which then set off fireworks and opened the massive end zone doors facing the plaza.

Guests were then invited to be the first to walk through the entryway, where they were greeted with the newly operational jumbotron playing Cowboys highlight videos. Only part of the lower concourse was open, as workers continued their cleaning operations on the stadium’s floor.

The CBAA Staff is currently making preparations to move offices into a suite on the Silver Club Level of the stadium.

Classic officials were able to visit the site of the new offices on Wednesday. All walls and ceilings are completely finished and work is beginning on the decorating and furnishing of the interior. The anticipated move in date will be some time next month.

January 2, 2010 will be the first Classic played in Cowboy’s Stadium. For the latest information about the CBAA follow us on Facebook or on twitter at attcottonbowl. To inquire about tickets, please e-mail 2010@attcottonbowl.com.
